Though we're no longer lovers
It's great that we are friends
For you, I love to talk to
On your voice I do depend.
You pick me up when I am down
Give me courage to go on
You make me smile when I am sad
And keep me up when I start to yawn.
We've been through lots of stuff
Both good as well as bad
I give thanks that we're still pals
On our friendship I am truly glad.
Here's to you, a true best friend
May we enjoy many a year together
With laughter and love we will get through
